Week 8, post by the analyst Louise

Hi everyone, I´m the analyst for this week! 

This week we had an activity where we would explore what means with complexity and how this affect the relationships at school. We would find the complexity from chapter one in the book ”Starkey, L. (2012). Teaching and learning in the digital age. London: Routledge.”. We started the week by reading the chapter and look up the different complexity by ourselves. The next day we had decide that we should meet and compere if we had the same complexity from the text. We thought it was hard to find the information.

This week all members in our group agreed that we have done a very bad job and we ALL have to improve the coming weeks!! On the whole week, we haven`t been a whole group, not in class and not at our meetings. There have been reasons, but the communication has been very poor, so we need to change that. It has not been easy for our star this week. We have put a lot of responsibility on the star and we need to change that! We need to distribute the work differently and we must help each other a lot better. The night before the presentation, the star should feel calm and proud of what we have done during the week and happy to presented it in class. For next week, we must all take our own responsibility and show commitment!

In the future when we work as teachers, we will have a big responsibility of all our students, and we must always be prepare before each lesson. The experience of this week is something we will carry with us and have in mind that we never will experience again! The teaching profession is also about being able to communicate with different people, for example the principals, parents and colleagues, etc. We have to learn from this kind of situation so we can make a better work next time. We have to improve our selfs and communication better!

Week 8, post by the curator - Stina

Hello everyone, I am the curator for this week!

This task wa about presenting different kinds of complexity that has to do with the schools organizaion. And our task was doing that by finding articles about the six kinds that we could read about in the text that we got from Linda (and what you can see under the category other sources in our mind map).

In this task I guess we lost focus and communication. I was not here at all, I was in Sweden. So all I know is that our task didn't go as it should have done. And I think that's to bad and I hope that we really can work as a team next week. With better communication and motivation.

But to see the good in all the bad I think this is how we learn. We make this a lesson and all we can do is moving on and make a better job next time. This is not just about our task. This is things that will happen in our future careers, in our daily lifes and we have to make them lessons and learn from them to do a better job.

I guess it is the same thing with the people tha have voted for Trump. They will one day wake up and say "Oh, I shouldn't have voted for him, the world is terrible with him running it".and they will have to make a huge effort to the rest of America to make America better again. (Well this is a bit extreme but I hope you get my point, we all make mistakes and we learn from them and if we don't well thats our problem and karma will get to you).

So what I did was only to collect the sources and tried to do some reading and what I will do next week is to take our task more seriously. Down below you can see our sources for this week:

Week 8, Post by the facilitator, Pedro

Hi everyone, I'm the facilitator this week, the Ladies&Gentlemen's facilitator.
This week I haven't got many positive things to say about our work-task. It has been a difficult week for us, mentally speaking.
We should begin our work distributing our roles on Monday, as every week. But this has not been our week. The accumulation of the lots of tasks we have to do from now to the rest of the first university grade have considerably influenced in our work this week, and we have been offline.
As I was saying, we did not distributed our roles well. We did not know who was gonna be the star until Tuesday afternoon. There wasn't much interest generally speaking, and I have to be honest to say that I have not carry out my role as I had to do it, so I have to apologize to my group.
We organized our work on Tuesday after university lessons. We met only four of us, because of some objections and some personal problems that some members of our group had. I was with the rest of my group but I was absolutely offline, as I have said. On Wednesday I didn't go to our group's presentation.
Difficult times are approaching. We have to be aware of what is coming. It is time to get down to work and to demonstrate that we are worth for this, that we are worth to get an university grade ahead. It is what university life has, that you can be relaxed almost all the time and enjoy it, but the key is to know when to get serious and have the psychological strength to change the 'chip' when you have to change it.

Week 7, Blogpost by the Analyst, Samuel

Hi everyone, I am Samuel and this week I have the Analyst role of Ladies & Gentlemen's group. My job is observe and evaluate the work of my group.
This week firstly we were a bit confuse because we didn't know how to do this task.
The best part of the activity was summarizing all ideas we had worked in because before we did the tasks and we probably didn't remember anything about it, but thanks to this activity we will remember all things better.
In the other hand, the worst part of this task was thinking about how to do the "modern comic" due to the general lack of creativity in all our members, it was really hard; we also spent a lot of time searching any software to make comic because we don't know how to draw.
We have learnt to remember at least the most crucial idea of all our new knowledge due to the need of trying to remember all the tasks we did before.
In my opinion, we need to improve the way of working because we actually use just one computer to do all things (except the blogposts), so I think we should bring all the computers or tablets or whatever to save time. Also, we need to conserve our wish of improvement because it is the only way of doing things with Passion.
Finally, in this last sentence I want to congratulate my group because they have work very hard; I feel very happy with them, at the same time I'm proud of them.

Hi everyone, I'm Pedro and this week I'm the curator of my group. This week we haven't used any information from Internet. We have used a global information that we have from the past weeks' tasks and we have also added some ideas related to the comic's story.

Week 7, post by the Facilitator, Mitchell

 Hi everyone! I am Mitchell from the group ladies & gentlemen and this week I am the facilitator. Being the faciliotator means you are the person in charge of the group, but I have realized this week its not only about being in charge of the group. Being in charge at the same time involves a lot of other different aspects, what I want to say is that its bnot only one task, it is many tasks joint together under one role.
  Personally I use this role as a challenge, because I have worked before and I have had to be the person in charge and I have nerver done it absolutely perfectly as Id like it to be. Thats why I try to be the best facilitator, because I know my weakest points and I want to improve my self.
 As a group we work really well, with the time we have gotten to know each other and consolidated our selves as unit, all together. This is good, we work as a team; but it's harder to coordinate a whole group than six people individually. Furthermore, I think I did a good job.
 First, we distribuited the roles (like every monday) making sure everybody has done every role before they get to repeat. Then, in the hour we have straight after class we all started reading the texts provided by the teacher and summarising them. The following day we also had to meet to finish the comic we had made and there is where I found a bit of diffciulties.
  For me in order to be a good facilitator you also have to be a good comunicator, it's hard to tell someone to do something without them being offended. Personally I tried to always keep the friendly touch, I dint want them to feel I had more "power" than them just for being the facilitator, and I specially struggled when you have to tell someone the same thing many times in order for them to achieve them. I think I found my way, the best way is to be the "best friend" of the group, be nice to everyone and keep motivating everyone individually so that they all work good as a group, nevertheless its hard to keep someone motivated when you are telling him he should it in another way.
 In conclusio, even though being a facilitator seems like an easy roll, when you are in the skin there is much more than what you actually can Imagine, you are constantly thinking and worrying about the final result and you have to catalyzd all of those thoughts to see which ones you have to express and which ones you should keep to yourself.
  Overall, it is a fun role because ypou get to learn a lot and get to be "the boss", which you don't get to be very often.

Week 7, blogpost by the star, Louise

Hello everyone, my name is Louise and I was this week's star! This week we have chosen modern comic as our method to represent what we have learning during these weeks. We have chose modern comic because we think it`s a fun method that captive the pupils interested. Modern comic can be a way to make reading joyful and make more sense by using different images. It a good method to use for all pupils but it can also be a motivation for pupils that have difficulties with reading. Just because it can be easier for them to understand the content by support from the images.

This week we have prepared by discussing about the weeks that have passed with focus on what we have learned. We chosen two things we have learned from each week and then we selected the ones we thought had the best fit into the modern comic. Then we met the following day and we made the modern comic on internet. On the webpage we could create our modern comic by choosing different character and backgrounds.

The preparations for this week's presentation has been well, we have been collaborated and shared ideas so we got a good modern comic that represent what we have learnt. Before the presentation I was, obviously a little nervous, but I thought it would not be so difficult. But as I stood there in front of everyone, I become nervous and my voice was little bit shaky. It was the first time I had a presentation here in Spain and in English. It was a different environment than I'm not used to. But it is very useful. I want to be a good teacher and I must learn to speak in front of different groups. I mean in the future as teachers we will stand and speak in front of our pupils all the time and sometimes their parents and so on.

Being a star is an important role, and it's also when you feel if teacher is the right career choice for you. I think it's fun, but I will just continue to practice speaking in front different people! In order to be a good role model for my students in the future!
